During the First World War there emerge many poets from the military itself expressing the glory of going to a war and fulfilling their duties towards their nation. The best example of this expression is the poem by Rupert Broke named “The Soldier” that is based on the theme of patriotism. However, as the time passed, war poems started showing the ugly truth of the war and “Dulce et decorum est” by Wilfred Owen is one such example who brought the picture of reality out and the horror associated with the wars.
